In 1952 Joyce Reynolds and John Ward-Perkins published the Inscriptions of Roman Tripolitania. This remains an authoritative work, but financial restrictions at the time meant that very few illustrations could be included. The British School at Rome has recently sponsored an online publication of all the photographs, currently under development, accompanied by texts and meta-data in html, with limited functionality. If time permits, we propose to develop an automatic transformation process to convert the material to XML-EpiDoc. If this turns out to be feasible, this will mean that the entire corpus of the Roman inscriptions of modern Libya will be available online in a compatible and cross-searchable format.
